Project Overview:
Severfield-Reeve carried out the connection design,
fabrication and erection of structural steelwork for this
major new retail development in the heart of Birmingham city
centre.
The New Bull Ring consists of approximately 1.8
million ft2 of retail space including two
anchor stores (Selfridges and Debenhams) involving basement
construction for a service yard, a two level car park, four retail
levels, malls on three levels, open central street and roofs,
including a glazed roof above the malls.
The 13,800 tonnes of fabricated steelwork supplied by
Severfield-Reeve included 3,400 of fabricated plate
girders. Within the steelwork package Severfield-Reeve also
integrated the supply and fixing of metal decking,
shear studs, edge trim and edge protection.
